Launch of the Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty

The Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty was officially launched today at the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Rio de Janeiro. Emerging from a year-long process of inclusive dialogue and collaboration, the Alliance is born with 148 founding members, including 82 countries, the African Union, the European Union, 24 international organizations, 9 international financial institutions, and 31 philanthropic and non-governmental organizations. This groundbreaking initiative aims to fast-track global efforts toward eradicating hunger and poverty, key priorities under the SDGs.
