VITEM XII - ARTISTS AND SPORTSPERSON
This type of Visa is intended to performing artists and sportspersons, including assistants and technicians, who receive payment from a Brazilian source (though there is no employment relationship) must have this type of visa.
This visa requires approval by the Brazilian Ministry of Labour. Application procedures should, therefore, be initiated in Brazil in contact with the Ministry of Labour. Once authorization is granted, the Ministry in charge will send authorization to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The sponsor, promoter or employer is responsible for making all necessary arrangements related to the contract in Brazil, prior to the lodging of the visa application.
Length of stay in brazil

The form must be filled in online. There is no printable version available for download. Enter complete information – please note that some fields are mandatory. Parents' names must be entered in full (name and surname), exactly as displayed in the applicant's birth certificate. If you have any question about the steps to apply for a visa, Click here. Must have at least two blank pages. Please note that pages reserved for amendments cannot be used for visa purposes. |

One passport photo |
The photo must be recent, against white background, in the local standard specifications (3.5 x 4.5 cm). The foto must be pasted on the Visa application form. |

Residence Certificate (Erweiterte Meldebescheinigung) |
The adresses and move-in dates of the last 12 months must be on the certificate. If the document has been issued in a country other than Germany, the Hague apostille has to be applied on it. In the countries where the Hague apostille does not apply it has to be be legalized by a brazilian consulate/embassy. |

Certificate of Conduct of the Federal Office for Justice |
Certificate of Conduct emitted by the Federal Office for Justice. Certificate of Conducts are valid for up to 3 months from the date of issue. If the applicant has lived in multiple countries within the last 12 months, a certificate of conduct from each country of residence must be provided. If the document has been issued in a country other than Germany, the Hague apostille has to be applied on it. In the countries where the Hague apostille does not apply it has to be be legalized by a brazilian consulate/embassy. |

Original full birth certificate* |
If German, present a copy of your birth certificate. In the absence of the full birth certificate, the applicant may submit another official document that contains the parents’ full names. If the document has been issued in a country other than Germany, the Hague apostille has to be applied on it. In the countries where the Hague apostille does not apply it has to be be legalized by a brazilian consulate/embassy. Attention: submitting this document is intended to prevent any discrepancies between the information contained in the visa application and the birth certificate itself. As the birth certificate will have to be presented during the mandatory registration of the visa with the Federal Police in Brazil (see below), any inconsistent data will preclude the conclusion of this process. Thus, the presentation of the birth certificate during the visa application stage abroad is not compulsory and will not prevent the visa from being issued, but is highly recommended in order to avoid possible inconveniences. |

Registration with the Federal Police
Holders of this type of visa must register with the Federal Police within 90 days from first entry in Brazil. Contact the Federal Police directly (click here) to learn how to register.
The Consulate anticipates that, among other documents, the applicant will have to present the Visa Application Form (FPV) provided upon issue of the visa, as well as his/her original full birth certificate, containing the parents' full names.
The certificate must be legalised (get an apostille) by the competent authority in the issuing country. Documents issued in Germany get an apostille from different authorities, check here. After being legalised, the document will have to be translated into Portuguese by a sworn translator ("tradutor juramentado") in Brazil.
