Printed version of the visa application form with photo and signature

The form must be filled in online. There is no printable version available for download.

Enter complete information – please note that some fields are mandatory.

Parents' names must be entered in full (name and surname), exactly as displayed in the applicant's birth certificate.

Click on the "Complete Application" button to generate the Visa Request Form Receipt (RER).

Print and sign the RER; affix your photo on the indicated field.

Gather all original documents listed below. They must be uploaded to the E-Consular and then presented during your interview at the Consulate, in addition to the RER

Valid passport

Must have at least two blank pages.

Please note that pages reserved for amendments cannot be used for visa purposes.

One passport photo

The photo must be recent, against white background, in the local standard specifications (3.5 x 4.5 cm). The foto must be pasted on the Visa application form.

Residence Certificate

(Erweiterte Meldebescheinigung)

The adresses and move-in dates of the last 12 months must be on the certificate.

If the document has been issued in a country other than Germany, the Hague apostille has to be applied on it. In the countries where the Hague apostille does not apply it has to be be legalized by a brazilian consulate/embassy.

Certificate of Conduct of the Federal Office for Justice

Certificate of Conduct emitted by the Federal Office for Justice.

Certificate of Conducts are valid for up to 3 months from the date of issue.

If the applicant has lived in multiple countries within the last 12 months, a certificate of conduct from each country of residence must be provided.

If the document has been issued in a country other than Germany, the Hague apostille has to be applied on it. In the countries where the Hague apostille does not apply it has to be be legalized by a brazilian consulate/embassy.

Original full birth certificate*

If German, present a copy of your birth certificate.

In the absence of the full birth certificate, the applicant may submit another official document that contains the parents’ full names.

If the document has been issued in a country other than Germany, the Hague apostille has to be applied on it. In the countries where the Hague apostille does not apply it has to be be legalized by a brazilian consulate/embassy.

Attention: submitting this document is intended to prevent any discrepancies between the information contained in the visa application and the birth certificate itself. As the birth certificate will have to be presented during the mandatory registration of the visa with the Federal Police in Brazil (see below), any inconsistent data will preclude the conclusion of this process. Thus, the presentation of the birth certificate during the visa application stage abroad is not compulsory and will not prevent the visa from being issued, but is highly recommended in order to avoid possible inconveniences.

Travel authorization (only to participants up to 18 years old)

Authorisation signed by the parents / legal guardians in case of child or adolescent, as well as the details of the person who will be responsible for the minor in Brazil. LINK PARA Viagem-Menores.pdf

Copy of the round trip ticket

The applicant must submit a booking confirmation (paid ticket or e-ticket) or a booking reservation (or letter from a travel agent on the applicant's behalf), containing the complete itinerary, flight numbers and arrival / departure dates.

Invitation letter from the entity in Brazil (Carta Convite)

The invitation letter must be printed on official letterhead of the entity and contain the following information:

a) The applicant's full personal details;

b) Details of the entity and person in charge in Brazil (full name, telephone, e-mail etc.);

c) Invitation for the provision of services as a volunteer.

Please note: the signature must be from someone officially linked to the organization (according to its articles of incorporation or association - or have a power of attorney to represent it). The signature on the invitation letter must be certified by a notary public ("tabelião").

Letter from the entity in Brazil containing details about place(s) and type of activity (Descrição das Atividades)

The document must be printed on official letterhead of the entity and contain the following information:

a) The applicant's full personal details;

b) Purpose of the trip and intended length of stay – include detailed description of the activities to be carried out by the volunteer;

c) Indication of the place(s) where the activities will be developed.

Please note: the signature must be from someone officially linked to the organization (according to its articles of incorporation or association - or have a power of attorney to represent it). The signature on the invitation letter must be certified by a notary public ("tabelião").

Term of Commitment (financial and health) (Termo de Responsabilidade)

Declaration, signed by the entity, stating that it takes full responsibility for the volunteer’s maintenance in Brazil during the entire stay,  medical care / hospital expenses in Brazil during the entire stay and for his/her future return to the country of origin.

Please note: the signature must be from someone officially linked to the organization (according to its articles of incorporation or association - or have a power of attorney to represent it). The signature on the invitation letter must be certified by a notary public ("tabelião").

EXCEPTION: In case of cost absorption by non-Brazilian institutions, sending or partner organizations or funding programs, such as BMZ, Global Engagement, weltwärts, ZMÖ-Nordkirche weltweit, GAW, EKIR, ELM (OMEL), NMZ, MEW, etc., the intermediary organization located in BRAZIL, such as EKLBB (IECLB), Goetheinstitut, AFS Intercultura Brasil, etc. must issue and sign this declaration of commitment;

In these exceptional cases, the declaration of commitment must clearly indicate the connection or partnership/cooperation of ALL institutions/organizations involved: from the source of funding abroad to the place of assignment in Brazil;

Participants in the volunteer program "kulturweit" must additionally submit the confirmation of participation from UNESCO;

Certified copy of the entity's articles of incorporation and association

In Portuguese, “ato constitutivo” or “estatuto social”.

The entity must be duly registered with the competent Brazilian authority.

Certified copy of the act of appointment of the current board of directors

Ato de nomeação/eleição da Diretoria Atual do local da prestação de serviço voluntário.

Up-to-date proof of registration with the respective Social Welfare Council (“Conselho de Assistência Social”)

If applicable. Otherwise, a certificate attesting the entity's qualification as a charitable organisation (“Organização de Sociedade Civil de Interesse Público - Oscip), issued by the Brazilian Ministry of Justice and Public Security.

Evidence that the entity in Brazil is fully and regularly operational (Comprovante de Inscrição Municipal e/ou Estadual)

E.g.: certificate issued by the city Council (“Prefeitura”) in Brazil.

Proof of professional experience or qualification compatible with the activities to be developed

Only required if the activities the volunteer will carry out demand specialised knowledge and experience (e.g. nursing, child / elderly care etc.).

Please note: the document must be legalised (get an apostille) by the competent authority in the issuing country.
