Established in 2011, the Instituto Guimarães Rosa - Beirut (previously known as Brasiliban or the Brazil-Lebanon Cultural Center) is part of a worldwide network of over 20 entities associated with Brazilian embassies. Its mission is to foster cultural and educational ties between Brazil and the host country, promoting Brazilian culture, the Portuguese language and student exchanges.
At the Instituto Guimarães Rosa - Beirut, you can:
- Enroll in regular and/or specialized Portuguese language courses for adults, youth, and kids.
- Prepare and take the Celpe-Bras, the official Brazilian Portuguese Language proficiency test.
- Access a library with over 3000 books and DVDs in Portuguese Language and/or about Brazilian culture.
- Attend Brazilian feature movies, short films, and documentary screenings.
- Celebrate Brazil Carnival, and Festa Junina, as well as other popular holidays.
- Attend exhibitions, concerts, talks, gastronomy workshops and handycraft clubs.
- Register to follow typical Brazilian dance, music, Jiu-Jitsu and capoeira classes.
