| New procedures to be considered in cases where third parties schedule and handle consular services on behalf of the interested parties: | |
| 1. Individuals interested in consular services should, in principle, not share their personal data with third parties without specific authorization. This includes the action of third parties scheduling services on the e-consular platform. | |
| 2. Only information derived from documents legally recognized as public can be shared with third parties. This includes second copies of registry certificates, for instance. |

| 3. For a third party to assist the citizen in scheduling services on the e-consular platform using their contact details, a simple power of attorney signed by the interested party is required. Find below a power of attorney template. | |
| 4. Notarization is not necessary in the power of attorney. The signature of the interested party must match that of their identification document. | |
| 5. If there is no power of attorney, the third party can act as an assistant or facilitator of the process but cannot use their profile to schedule consular services on behalf of others. | |
| 6. Even with the power of attorney registered in the consular electronic system, the presence of the interested party on the scheduled day is essential for the completion of services that require an expression of will. |
