Work Visa (VITEM V)
General rules
- Work visas are subject to prior approval by the Brazilian Ministry of Justice and Public Security. The process must be initiated in Brazil, by the sponsoring company (on behalf of the applicant), with submission of the pertinent application and supporting documentation to that Ministry.
- Once the procedure in Brazil is concluded and approved, the Ministry of Justice and Public Security will transmit the authorization to the Consular Section in Bangkok via the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Only then the applicant is able to apply for the visa at the Consular Section.
- In order to confirm whether an authorization has been received by the Embassy, you may send us an email at consulado.bangkok@itamaraty.gov.br
- Foreign nationals who are already in Brazil can apply for a residence permit for the purposes of work directly with the Brazilian Ministry of Justice and Public Security.
