Launch webinar (4 November, 10:30 – 12:00 GMT-3)
Radar Agtech Brazil 2024
The English version of the study “Radar Agtech Brazil 2024” will be launched in a webinar to be held on November 4, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Brasília time). The study is carried out in partnership between the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa), Homo Ludens and SP Ventures. The goal of the webinar is to present the study to an international audience, highlighting the main features and opportunities of Brazil’s agritech and foodtech sectors. The event is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, through the Innovation Diplomacy Program.
The document is one of the main references in strategic intelligence for the agri-food innovation sector in Brazil. The mapping effort started in 2019 focusing on agritechs, but over time expanded the analysis to include foodtechs. The latest edition of Radar Agritech was released in March 2025, in Portuguese. The English edition will be officially launched during the webinar.
One of the novelties of the edition is a more in-depth analysis of agribusiness innovation environments in Brazil, as well as broader data on investors working in agribusiness. Radar Agtech 2024 also highlights the connections in the ecosystems, exploring how different members (startups, investors, and innovation environments) converge to transform the agrifood chain.
According to the report, the number of agritechs in Brazil has grown by more than 75% since the first edition, rising from 1,125 in 2019 to 1,972 in 2024—evidence of the fast expansion of the sector in the country. Innovation environments in Brazilian agriculture also recorded significant growth between the years 2023 and 2024. In addition, the number of agribusiness incubators increased by 224%, while startup accelerators grew by 90%; hubs grew by 29%; and technology parks by 25%.
One of the trends highlighted in the study is the decentralization of innovation ecosystems. While the Southeast Region still concentrates the largest share of initiatives (36.8%), driven mainly by the state of São Paulo, the North and Northeast regions have shown the highest proportional growth rates.
Other emerging trends include the digitalization of agriculture, the investment in sustainable innovation and the internationalization of Brazilian agritech companies. By using digital technologies such as remote sensing and agricultural automation, and adopting sustainable practices like bioinputs and traceability, Brazilian startups are expanding their market, accessing advanced technologies and connecting to global innovation hubs.
