HUMANITARIAN VISAS
Applications for the humanitarian visa program for those affected by the armed conflict in Afghanistan must be done on the E-consular system platform

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
1) The Brazilian government does not grant flight tickets or accommodation. Therefore, you should be ready to cover those costs for you and your family.
2) The request for an interview appointment is only possible through the e-consular system (see link above).
3) After completing the electronic visa form and uploading all the required documents to your e-consular account, your application will be processed according to the queue system. Once your application is validated, you will be able to book the interview through your e-consular account.
4) The final decision on the visa grant is taken by immigration authorities in Brazil.
5) The answer may take many months.
6) The result will be sent by email. If your visa request is approved, you have up to six months to collect the visa and travel. Proof of flight reservation must be sent to visa.ancara@itamaraty.gov.br before booking the appointment to collect the visa.
After arriving in Brazil:
- You must register at the nearest Federal Police department within 90 days of the date of arrival.
- All refugees are entitled to a work permit.
