Entering Brazil
ENTRY AND EXIT CARD TO FOREIGNERS
The Federal Police of Brazil introduced a new model of entry and exit card to foreigners, to be presented in Brazilian airports. The new model is available as an editable file on its website:
This measure allows the foreigners to fill out and print their card before their arrival in Brazil, speeding up immigration control.
TRANSIT
Foreigners travelling to third countries with connections in Brazilian airports do not require a Brazilian visa, as long as the traveller does not leave the international transit area. If it is necessary to leave the international transit area (for instance, to procede to a new check-in), the passengers will need to go through immigration control and, therefore, will have to present a visit visa to the Brazilian authorities (except holders of passports from countries with which Brazil has visa waiver agreements).
VACCINATIONS
Brazil does not require an International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis for entry into the country.
Travellers are encouraged, however, to ensure their routine immunizations are up to date (as recommended by their country of origin), since it is an effective and safe measure for the prevention of various diseases. It is also important that travellers take yellow fever vaccination 10 days before visiting forested areas or participating in ecotourism or rural tourism activities.
Although cases of measles or rubella do not occur in Brazil, these diseases are present in other countries. Therefore, it is recommended to be vaccinated against them.
