Legalization of Brazilian documents
The Embassy of the Federative Republic of Brazil in Abu Dhabi DOES NOT legalize Brazilian documents. If you need to present a Brazilian document in the United Arab Emirates, follow the instructions below, exactly in this order:
-
ask a sworn translator in Brazil to translate your document from Portuguese into Arabic. For more information on how to find a sworn translator, contact the Junta Comercial (Trade Board) of the Brazilian State where the document was issued.
-
go to a Brazilian public notary and legalize, on the sworn translation, the signature of the sworn translator.
-
go to the Setor de Legalização de Documentos e Rede Consular Estrangeira (Legalization of Documents and Foreign Consular Network Section) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Brasília and ask for the legalization of the document and its sworn translation. This service can also be requested at the Regional Offices that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. For more information and contact details, click here.
-
finally, ask the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Brasília or the Consulate General of the United Arab Emirates in São Paulo to legalize the two documents.
