Apostille and legalization of documents

The Embassy of the Federative Republic of Brazil in Abu Dhabi DOES NOT issue apostilles. The Embassy can legalize official documents issued in the United Arab Emirates, but cannot legalize official documents issued in Brazil. In Brazil, anyone interested in obtaining an apostille on an official Brazilian document can request this service at cartórios and tabelionatos (public notaries) authorized by the Conselho Nacional de Justiça (National Council of Justice). It is important to note, however, that the United Arab Emirates does NOT accept nor issue apostilles. Thus, anyone who needs to present Brazilian documents in the United Arab Emirates must follow the instructions concerning document legalization, following the instructions indicated in the paragraph above.
