VITEM IV - Student Visa
General information
This type of Visa is necessary for:
I. Regular courses;
II. Internships;
III. Student exchange programs;
IV. Research exchange programs.
Should the stay be shorter than 90 days, a VIVIS should be applied for instead.
How and when to apply
In person, at the Consulate; or by mail, sending the documentation listed below together with proof of payment of the Consular Fee.
The applicant must come personally to pick up the Visa.
We require at least five work days to process the Visa.

Proof of financial means for the trip, either of the applicant himself or his or her parents/legal guardians, or proof of a scholarship. Notice: declarations issued by Brazilian public universities or Federal Institutions need no legalization of signature. Otherwise the declaration must be presented in the original, with the signature legalized by a Brazilian Notary. |

a) Proof of registration at a graduation/post-grad course, apostilled; b) Proof of participation in a project of research with a Brazilian Higher Education Institution or another institution. |

Specialization or post-graduation in medical areas |
a) Proof of conclusion of a course in Medicine, Nursing, Odontology or related areas, apostilled; b) Proof of registration or invitation letter from the intended course in Brazil. No legalization of signature needed if it is issued by a public institution; c) Signed declaration from the one responsible for the course; This type of Visa does not allow medical residency. |

a) Proof of attendance of a graduation or post-graduation course; b) Term of Responsibility between the student, the place of internship and the Institution of study. |

Proof of registration at an institute in Brazil. |

The Visa Fee will not be reimbursed in case of:
(i) the Visa is denegated;
(ii) the Visa is not issued;
(iii) the applicants give up the trip.
