Birth registration for children born outside Japan

What it is
Birth registration based on a certificate from another country. It can be done at the Consulate as long as at least one of the parents is Brazilian.
How to apply
With the necessary documents in hand, schedule the service through the e-Consular system. Check out the system tutorial here. Once the appointment has been made, you will need to go in person to the Consulate and present the original documents.
⚠️ The presence of the Brazilian parent is required.
Documents required

Registration of people over 12 years old
If the person to be registered is over the age of 12, they must be accompanied by a Brazilian parent and two witnesses. In addition to the documents listed above, the following must be presented:
- Original and copy of the identity document with photo of the person to be registered (school ID card or foreign passport or My Number card)
- Completed and signed Witness Data Form
- Original and copy of the witnesses' identity document
💡 Witnesses can be Brazilian or foreign and relatives of any degree of the registrant.
