Public tender - housekeeper
The Consulate-General of Brazil in Sydney, according to Decree n. 1,570, of 21 July 1995, and the Ministry of External Relations Ordinance from 12 September 1995, gives publicity, by this notice, of the opening of a selection process to hire a housekeeper for its Official Residence, according to the following:
1. Objective
1.1. This Notice establishes the terms and conditions of the selection process to hire 1 (one) Housekeeper to the Official Residence of the Consulate-General of Brazil in Sydney.
1.2. The Consulate’s local employees are hired under the New South Wales tax and labour law, in a full-time job.
1.3. The housekeeper will execute tasks related to general domestic work as defined in the employment contract, which includes, among others, cleaning, disposing of waste, doing the laundry and pressing.
1.4. The monthly gross salary will be AUD 4.306,47 (four thousand three hundred and six Australian dollars and forty-seven cents).
1.5. This selection process will not grant entry into the Brazilian public service, nor the vacancy is related to any public function, job or position in the Brazilian Government.
2. Requirements
2.1. The candidates should comply with the following requirements:
a) Minimum age: 18 years old;
b) Declaration (in the application form) that you do not occupy any public function, job or position in the Brazilian Government;
c) Proof of Australian citizenship or permanent residence visa (for Brazilians or candidates from other countries);

3. Application
3.1. The period of application is from 07 to 21 November, 2022.
3.2. The copy of the following documents should be sent to the Consulate General, according to the deadline above, preferably by email (administ.sydney@itamaraty.gov.br). Alternatively, the documents can be delivered in person at the front desk of the Consulate-General, in a closed envelope, during the workdays of the application period, from 9am to 3pm:
a) Application form, available by clicking here or at the Consulate-Generals front desk;
b) Resumé, preferably with one or more reference or recommendation letter(s);
c) Proof of Australian citizenship (Australian passport) or permanent residence visa (Visa Grant Letter or VEVO page);
d) Copy of official ID with photo (Drivers Licence, for Australians; Passport, for Brazilians or other countries);
ATTENTION: Brazilian candidates, please refer to the Portuguese version of this document, as other documents are required for Brazilians;
4. Evaluation process
4.1. Preliminary assessment
4.1.1 – The Selection Committee will analyse the documents provided and assess the experience, profile and adequacy of the candidates to the job.
4.2. Interview
4.2.1. After the preliminary assessment, the selected candidates will be contacted by email or phone for an interview, to be held in a day and time to be determined.
4.2.2. The candidates should arrive no later than 15 minutes before the appointed time for the interview and bring a photo ID.
4.2.3. Candidates who do not show up at the scheduled date and time for the individual interview will be disqualified from the selection process.
4.2.4. During the interview, it will be discussed the candidate's previous experience and references will be discussed and their oral expression, personality and adequacy for the position will be take into consideration.
4.3. The result of the selection process will be posted at the reception of the Consulate General and on the Consulate’s website https://www.gov.br/mre/pt-br/consulado-sydney/en-au.
4.4. There will be no review of the Selection Committee’s decision.
5. Contract and validity of the selection process
5.1. The best candidate will be selected and must present the following documentation:
a) the original documents listed in item 3.2;
b) evidence of physical and mental fitness provided by a medical doctor (GP);
c) Proof of absence of criminal record, upon submission of attestation issued by police authority (“police clearance”; “full fingerprint”).
5.2. In the event of withdrawal of the candidate classified in first place, noncompliance with the provisions of item 5.1 above or unavailability to take up the position within a reasonable time, the candidate ranked in second place, and so on, will be hired.
5.3. This selection process will be valid for 12 (twelve) months, from the date of disclosure of its final result. The remaining qualified candidates may be contacted for the position if there are open vacancies during the period of validity.
