VITEM XIV – Digital Nomad

This visa may be granted to foreign citizens without employment contract in Brazil whose professional activities can be performed remotely. Initial residency period of up to one (1) year.

- Original passport (signed, valid up to the end of Brazil trip, with at least 2 visa blank pages)
- Proof of residence in the U.S. (copy of visa or Green Card) for non-U.S. citizens
- Proof of residence in consular jurisdiction (copy of a valid driver's license or utility bill will be accepted as proof of residence)

- Passport-style photo (2”x 2”, white background)
- USPS money order - see visa fees here
- Birth Certificate (original and one copy)
- FBI Background Check (issued within the past 60 days)
- Health insurance valid in Brazil;
- Flight itinerary showing entry in Brazil;
- Proof of income from a FOREIGN paying source, in a monthly amount equal to or greater than US$1,500.00; or bank statements (proof of funds)
in the amount of US$ 18,000.00;
- Employment or service contract (signed by a foreign employer/service contractor) and statement that work activities can be performed remotely
during your stay in Brazil. This statement must be presented in a letterhead format, signed by the employer / contractor;
- Extra USPS Priority Express envelope, pre-paid and self-addressed (this will be used to mail your passport back to you)
