TEMPORARY VISA IX – Investment
This type of visa requires starting the process in Brazil. The Brazilian company or institution must file a petition for temporary residency authorization at the Ministry of Justice (“Ministério da Justiça”). Only after the authorization is granted, the applicant will be able to apply for a work visa at the Consulate General of Brazil in New York.
Please be advised that Temporary visas may be granted to applicants who intend to establish temporary residence (for more than 90 days). If you intend to stay in Brazil for less than 90 days, you must apply for a Visit Visa.
Eligibility:
1) Administrator, manager, director, or executive with supervising responsibilities over a foreign corporation or society that intends to invest in a Brazilian counterpart;
2) Individual who intends to invest at least R$ 500.000,00 in a Brazilian company/enterprise;
3) Individual who intends to invest at least R$ 150.000,00 in a Brazilian startup;
4) Individual who intends to invest at least R$ 700.000,00 in real estate in the North or Northeast regions of Brazil;
5) Individual who intends to invest at least R$ 1.000.000,00 in real estate in the Center-West, Southeast, or South regions of Brazil.
General Requirements:
1) PASSPORT: Signed, valid up to the end of your trip, and with at least one visa blank page available (amendment pages are not accepted).
2) Visa Application Form : https://formulario-mre.serpro.gov.br/sci/pages/web/ui/#/servicos-estrangeiros .One per applicant, completely filled out online and signed by the passport holder or his/her parents/guardians. You will need to print only the receipt page with the bar code.
3) PHOTO: One recent 2” x 2” passport-photo size, front view, white background.
4) FBI BACKGROUND CHECK: FBI Background Check issued within the last 3 months (request may be submitted to an FBI-approved Channeler).
Other nationalities: USD 100.00
FOREIGN RESIDENTS: please present also a Copy of the US Alien Resident Card and/or a Valid Visa.
Additional documents may be requested at the Consular Authority’s discretion.
