Create a personal account by following the instructions at the end of the message.
Sign the authorization HERE and, If one parent is unable to attend this appointment, their signature must be notarized and the document certified by the County Clerk.

After the documents validation, you'll be able to schedule an appointment to present your paperwork in-person.
Eligibility:
Visitor Visa (VIVIS) may be granted to visitors for a short stay (up to 90 days), for the following purposes:
Tourism: sightseeing, informative trips, cultural trips, educational trips, leisure, family visits, conferences, seminars, congresses, and meetings.
Business: business meetings and events, fairs, contract signatures, audits, consulting;
Artistic or sports activity.
Health treatment.
Study, research, teaching, academic extension, and supervised academic training.
Volunteer work.
Adoption of Brazilian minor.
Aircraft or ship crew members.
Journalistic coverage and filming.
The applicant must present all original documents uploaded to the e-Consular platform, along with a USPS money order for the applicable consular fee.
General Requirements:
PASSPORT: Signed, valid up to the end of your trip, and with at least one visa blank page available (amendment pages are not accepted).
Visa Application Form: One per applicant, completely filled out online and signed by the passport holder or his/her parents/guardians. You will need to print only the receipt page with the bar code.
PHOTO: One recent 2” x 2” passport-photo size, front view, white background.
Evidence of INCOME: Proof of financial capability during the stay in Brazil (i.e., copy of bank/credit card statements or paychecks/paystubs).
Evidence of LEGAL STAY IN THE U.S.: copy of the green card or valid visa.

Observations:
NO EMPLOYMENT IN BRAZIL: The beneficiary of a visitor visa is prohibited from engaging in paid employment in Brazil. Not valid for paid work in Brazil.
PAYMENT OF THE CONSULAR FEE: The consular fee visa MUST be paid with a U.S. Postal Service Money Order ONLY, made out to the Consulate General of Brazil in New York (the money order is due upon submitting your documents at the Consulate). Cash, cards, and non-USPS money orders are not accepted. .
SOME TYPES OF PAYMENTS ARE ALLOWED: The beneficiary of a visitor visa may receive certain forms of payment from the government, from a Brazilian employer, or from a private entity, such as reimbursement for travel expenses (the Consular Authority will verify the applicant’s paperwork in order to establish if the payment to be received by the applicant is compatible with the visitor visa). If the applicant is going to receive any sort of payment from Brazilian sources, he/she must provide comprehensive paperwork related to the intended trip. The visitor visa can also be used for travelers who intend to compete for prizes, including money, sports competitions, or artistic or cultural competitions. The following types of payment are allowed: daily allowances, artistic paychecks, compensation, or other travel expenses.
STOPOVERS AND TRANSIT: No visa is required for stopovers or connections in Brazilian airports, provided that the visitor does not leave the international transit area. If the traveler is going to leave the international transit area, a visit visa is required.
THE SAME VISITOR VISA CAN BE USED FOR DIFFERENT PURPOSES: A visitor visa can be used for different purposes, on the same trip, or on different occasions, provided the purposes are covered by the visitor visa rules listed above. For example, you can apply for a visitor visa for a tourist visit and, in the future, use the same visa for a business trip; or you can do business and tourism on the same trip.
VISITOR VISAS ARE USUALLY GOOD FOR MULTIPLE ENTRIES. The Brazilian Government decides at its own discretion the type of Visa and duration granted. The maximum stay in Brazil will be decided by the Federal Police of Brazil.

Step-by-Step to acess the E-Consular Platform:
After filling out the form and printing the receipt (RER) at the link https://formulario-mre.serpro.gov.br/sci/pages/web/ui/#/servicos-estrangeiros, please access the E-Consular Platform.
1. Log in
Access the E-CONSULAR system (https://ec-novayork.itamaraty.gov.br) and register with your e-mail.
2. Check your e-mail
A message from E-CONSULAR will be sent to your e-mail with an access code, which should be inserted into the system.
Next, you need to create a password and insert your contact information.
3. Choose your service
You will be automatically directed to the tab “My Services”, where it will be possible to choose the service Brazilian Visit Visa (up to 90 days) - by mail only - NOT FOR US PASSPORT HOLDERS by clicking on “New Service”.
4. Fill out the information and send images of the necessary documents
Read the instructions carefully and fill all the fields with the requested information. Upload the images of the required documentation in each field of the electronic form. When using your smartphone you will be able to take pictures of documents in a fast and simple way.
5. Finalize the request
After filling in all the information, confirm all is correct and send the requirement to be validated by the team at the Consulate-General of Brazil in New York
6. Wait for the answer.
In 48 working hours, this Consulate will send you an e-mail with one of the following information:
- Authorization to schedule an appointment; or
- A request to correct or complete information that was presented by the applicant.
In case you receive a message with a request to correct or complete the documents that were sent, process the alterations/additions and send the request for validation again.
