Temporary visa for study (VITEM - IV)
ATTENTION!
Applicants must refrain from sending documents by email, unless requested to do so by the Consulate.
VITEM IV-TEMPORARY VISA FOR STUDY
For elementary (primary), middle (secondary), high school, non-academic or language courses students
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
□ Passport;
□ One recent photo;
□ One Electronic Visa Application Form “RER – Recibo de Entrega de Requerimento”, printed out and signed by the applicant. For on-line application, access the following https://formulario-mre.serpro.gov.br/;
□ Police Clearance issued within the last 3 months: only if you are 18 years old or more;
□ Evidence of financial means compatible with the entire period of stay in Brazil or proof that the applicant has been granted a scholarship / bursary;
□ Proof of enrolment indicating duration and nature of studies;
□ A copy of the booked ticket (or a simulated itinerary showing travel plans), with applicant’s full name and departure/arrival dates;
□ Visa Fee.
FOR MINORS (those under 18 years of age) All of the applicable previous requirements plus the following:
□ Copy of both parents' passports;
□ A letter of consent signed by both parents;
□ Declaration of responsability signed by the person responsible for the child in Brazil.
ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTATION:
FOR STUDENTS AT GRADUATE LEVEL:
Proof of enrolment at an institution that is recognised by the Brazilian Ministry of Education and Culture.
FOR “SANDWICH” TYPE PROGRAMMES:
Proof that the student is still enrolled at an educational institution based outside of Brazil at a graduate/post graduate level;
Proof of enrolment or a reserved enrolment at an institution that is recognised by the Brazilian Ministry of Education and Culture.
FOR STUDENTS AT POST GRADUATE LEVEL:
Proof of enrolment at an institution that is recognised by the Brazilian Ministry of Education and Culture.
FOR INTERNSHIP:
Affidavit of Commitment for Internship (Termo de Compromisso de Estágio).
FOR EXCHANGE STUDENTS (ROTARY/AFS):
Copy of the act of establishment of the Brazilian institution (Ata de Constituição ou Ata de posse da diretoria atual)
Copy of the "Cadastro Nacional de Pessoas Jurídicas -CNPJ"
Declaration from the exchange institution confirming that the applicant has a place in the programme (Declaração de inclusão no programa)
A notarized letter from the school/institution in Brazil confirming the enrolment or acceptance of the student and informing time length of studies, location (full address of the hosting institution) and name of its directors (Comprovante de matrícula ou reserva de vaga)
Proof of financial means to support their stay in Brazil (Comprovante de manutenção, financiamento de bolsa ou documento equivalente)
Address/names/qualifications of responsible parties in Brazil (a notarized letter assuming total responsibility) (Endereço completo do local de hospedagem do aluno bem como qualificação dos responsáveis)
Notes
· Visa provision is subject to change without prior notice.
· We may ask you to translate additional documents and documents if we decide it is necessary.
· Issuance of a visa does not guarantee entry into Brazil, the final decision will depend on the immigration inspector.
· Application for visa does not guarantee the issuance of visa.
· If you have a valid visa in your old passport, you can enter the country by presenting your old passport and current passport at the same time.
· Visas can not be issued to Brazilian citizens. Brazilian citizens need to enter and leave Brazil with a Brazilian travel document even if they have another nationality.
