Processing times

The processing times indicated below are a mere estimate of the maximum periods normally required for the issuance of consular services by the Consulate General of Brazil in Montreal.

Visas (when applicable click here): for types of visas that require approval by federal agencies in Brazil, such as permanent and some temporary visas, the consulate is unable to provide precise processing times; applicants should expect at least 10 working days from receipt of applications by the consulate.

All other consular services: issued within 10 working days of receipt of complete applications.

Please note:

* Processing times do not comprise mail delivery.

* In case of services requiring approval of a draft by the applicant (e.g. power of attorney), processing times shown above do not comprise assessment by the applicant. Please allow for at least 2 working days from approval of draft by the applicant.

* Processing times may be changed without notice.

* Definition of working days: those which are normally devoted to work or professional activities and are not a public holiday or weekend.
