LEGALIZATION OF DOCUMENTS - IMPORTANT NOTICE
Due to the entry into force in Canada of the "Hague Apostille Convention" on 11 January 2024, starting that date this Consulate General will no longer legalise Canadian documents. From that date on, in order for Canadian documents (school documents, civil registration certificates, documents issued by local notaries, etc.) to have legal effect in Brazil, they should receive the corresponding stamp of the Apostille, to be wagered by the competent Canadian authorities.
To obtain information about Canadian bodies with capacity to apostille documents and the necessary arrangements in each province, it is recommended to seek information from Canadian authorities or official websites such as:
