Brasileiros no Mundo Conference ("Brazilians in the World" Conference)
The "Brasileiros no Mundo" Conference is the most important debate forum about government policies towards Brazilian communities abroad. The 5th edition of the Conference will be carried out in the State of Bahia, from 17 to 20 May, 2016. Topics for discussion include consular services, culture, education, employment, gender-based violence, health, integration, social care, social security, and the outcome of the I Conference on Gender Issues in Brazilian Immigration carried out in June 2015 in Brasilia.
Brazilians in the United Kingdom
There is no consistent official data regarding Brazilian presence in the United Kingdom. This is largely because several Brazilians enter the country holding a European citizenship.
After the 2014 presidential elections, the Consulate General of Brazil in London and the Brazilian Embassy estimated that approximately 140 thousand Brazilians live in the United Kingdom. Although the estimate is not official, it is an indicator that helps this Consular Authority improve services offered to the Brazilian community.
