Work Visa
Foreigners travelling to Brazil under an employment contract must hold a temporary work visa (VITEM V). Work visas are also necessary for activities such as professional internships, technical assistance, transfer of technology, maritime workers (for stays that exceed 90 days), and representation of financial institutions, multinational corporations or non-profit institutions.
Work visas must be requested by employers in Brazil and will only be granted after approval by the Brazilian Ministry of Justice and Public Security. For more information, please visit https://portaldeimigracao.mj.gov.br/pt/informacoes-gerais
If your employer’s request is approved, the Ministry of Justice will forward the authorization to the Consulate.
Once your work visa is authorized, and you have gathered all the required documents (see list below), you must submit an application at: https://ec-istambul.itamaraty.gov.br/
You will be able to set an appointment after your application is reviewed.
Within 90 days of entry in Brazil, holders of a VITEM V must register at the Federal Police and submit a copy of the visa application form provided by the Consulate.
