Digital Nomad Visa
A “digital nomad” is such considered if the applicant can work for a foreign employer while in Brazil, using information technology to perform his functions remotely. If the applicant works for a company in Brazil, this visa cannot be requested.
Within 30 days of entry in Brazil, holders of this type of visa must register at the Federal Police (click here) and submit a copy of the visa application form provided by this Consulate.
Length of stay in Brazil is up to 1 year.

Incomplete applications will not be processed and will be returned to the applicant.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
1 - Online visa application form:
Fill in the electronic application form at https://formulario-mre.serpro.gov.br/, upload all requested documents, submit, print out, and sign.
When filling in the application form, it is very important to completely fill out all fields and upload all required documents.
Important: Special attention to the field parents’ full names, that should be informed as stated in your birth certificate.
Note: If deceased, their full names will still be required.
Attention: It is also very important to inform your (own) correct telephone number and your (own) correct e-mail address.
a) The form should be signed inside the designated box in blue or black ink. Do not exceed the borders;
b) Applicant must upload photo, signature and all mandatory documents.
2 - Valid passport:
a) The Consular Section reserves the right not to endorse soiled, damaged or defaced passports;
b) Passport must have at least 2 unused (blank) pages. Note that pages reserved for amendments cannot be used for visa purposes.
3 - One recent (3 months maximum) 36mm x 47mm photograph:
a) Photo must be in color, front view, white background, no shadows, ICAO standard;
b) Photo should be "developed" in photography paper, in ultra-high quality. Photos in regular paper, with low quality or digital only versions are not accepted;
c) Photos should be recent (3 months old maximum). The same photo cannot be used for more than one application.
Note: To avoid your photo being rejected, we strongly recommend using a professional photographer's service.
4 - Criminal Record (all applicants 18 years old or older):
If living in Türkiye for one year or longer (Turkish Criminal Record)
a) Criminal Record must show the applicant's city of birth. The city must be written exactly the same way as in the passport - same spelling and same language;
b) Must be recent (3 months old maximum);
c) Must be issued originally in English. If not issued originally in English, the foreign Criminal Record must receive an official translation to English.
If living in Türkiye for less than one year (Criminal Record from the country of origin / last residences)
a) Criminal Record must show the applicant's city of birth. The city must be written exactly the same way as in the passport - same spelling and same language;
Important: On criminal records, the city of birth cannot be listed as 'abroad' nor simply by the name of the country; such entries will NOT accepted.
b) Must be recent (3 months old maximum);
c) Must be issued originally in English. If not issued originally in English, the Criminal Record must receive an official translation to English.
5 - Birth certificate:
a) Birth certificate which shows the parents' full names, issued by the country of origin;
b) The birth certificate must show the applicant's city of birth.
6 - Travel insurance, including medical insurance:
The insurance certificate must be issued originally in English. If not issued originally in English, the document must receive an official translation to Portuguese or English.
7 - For non-Turkish citizens only:
Proof of legal residence status in Türkiye (original permanent resident card).
8 - Proof of being a digital nomad (the applicant must present all the three following documents):
8.1 Declaration from the applicant who attests the ability to perform his/her professional activities remotely, through information and communication technologies. The declaration must be issued originally in English;
8.2 Employment contract or contract for provision of services or other documents proving the link with a foreign employer. The contract must be issued originally in English. If not issued originally in English, the contract must receive an official translation to Portuguese or English;
8.3 Proof of means of subsistence, from a foreign paying source, in a monthly amount equal to or greater than US$ 1,500.00 (one thousand five hundred U.S. dollars) or availability of bank funds in the amount of US$ 18,000.00 (eighteen thousand U.S. dollars). Statements of bank account for the last 3 months or payment slips are accepted as proof.

The consular fee (visa fee) is non-refundable, even if the visa is not issued or is denied.
Cash and credit cards are not accepted at the Consulate.

HOW TO APPLY
Gather the necessary documentation and request the service via the e-consular system: https://ec-istambul.itamaraty.gov.br
Once the documentation has been checked, your visit to the Consulate will be authorised. Keep an eye on your e-mail address to follow up on updates, as the appointment will be made by the concerned person once they have received the e-mail.
On the day of the appointment, don't forget to bring your original documents and proof of payment.
