How to Bring Your Pet to Brazil
Entering Brazil
It is advisable to book your appointment with the Turkish authorities at least a week in advance, in order to prepare the necessary documents for your pet and check the validity of the required vaccinations. Please contact the nearest provincial and district directorates of agriculture and forestry (İl ve İlçe Tarım ve Orman Müdürlüğü) in Turkey for up-to-date information.
Entering Turkey
To return to Turkey it is also necessary to prepare the travel form in Brazil. Please contact the Agricultural and Livestock Surveillance in Brazil before your return trip. Click here to access the website.

Dogs and cats must present an International Veterinary Certificate (CVI) or Passport (recognized by MAPA - Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock) issued by the Veterinary Authority of the country of origin, meeting Brazil's health requirements.
Official pet passports are only accepted from countries that reciprocally accept the Brazilian Pet Passport. At the moment, the European Pet Passport is not valid for entry into Brazil.

For other companion animals (rabbits, ferrets, chinchillas, etc.), it is also mandatory to apply for a MAPA Import Authorization at the Federal Superintendence of Agriculture (Superintendência Federal de Agricultura) in the state where the animal's final destination is in Brazil.
