Life Certificate
GENERAL INFORMATION
The Consulate can issue a Certificate of Life exclusively to Brazilian nationals or foreigners holding an RNE/CRNM card (valid or not) who are linked, as a pensioner, to the National Institute of Social Security (INSS) or other Brazilian public bodies.
Applying for the Certificate of Life requires the applicant to go to the Consulate General in Istanbul. It is not possible to issue this document without the applicant being present.
We recommend using a mobile phone or computer with a scanner to fill in the following forms, as you will need to send images (or photos) of documents.
Photos or documents scanned by mobile phone should be clear, only the document should appear, do not photograph other objects.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION
1 - Original and copy of valid Brazilian identity card or previous valid Brazilian passport - pages 1, 2 and 3. If you are a foreigner, original or copy of your RNE/CRNM (valid or not)
2 - Completed form, without abbreviations, typed or in block letters, with a blue or black pen.
3 - Proof of payment of USD 5.00 (five dollars)

HOW TO REQUEST AN APPOINTMENT
Gather the necessary documentation and request the service via the e-consular system: https://ec-istambul.itamaraty.gov.br
Once the documentation has been checked, your visit to the Consulate will be authorised. Keep an eye on your e-mail address to follow up on updates, as the appointment will be made by the concerned person once they have received the e-mail.
On the day of the appointment, don't forget to bring your original documents and proof of payment.
FORWARDING THE CERTIFICATE
Once the Certificate of Life has been issued, the document must be sent directly by the person concerned to the competent body in Brazil. In the case of the INSS, the forwarding address is:
CGGPB - Coordenação Geral de Pagamentos de Benefícios.
