VITEM IV - Student (Grade School, Undergraduate, Graduate, or Study Abroad Programs)

NOTE: If your program will last for fewer than 90 days, you may enter Brazil on a Visitor Visa (VIVIS)

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Passport (valid and signed with at least two blank Visa pages)
• Proof of residence in the U.S. (visa or Green Card), for non-U.S. citizens
• Visa Application Form Receipt (printed and signed)                
• Passport-style photo (2’’x2’’)
• U.S. Postal Service Money Order (see Visa Fees page)
  • Fulbright Program participants are exempt from this requirement
• Birth Certificate (original and one copy)
• FBI Background Check (issued within the past 60 days)
  • Fulbright Program participants are exempt from this requirement
• Proof of enrollment in accredited foreign university or other accredited institution of higher learning, if applicable
• Proof of enrollment in Brazilian university or other accredited institution of higher learning in which applicant will complete his or her program
  • Must state applicant’s name, duration of program, and guarantee of a minimum of 15 hours of academic instruction per week.
• Proof of adequate funds for the duration of applicant’s stay in Brazil
  • Checking/savings account balances, lines of credit, affidavit of financial sponsorship by parents/sponsor(s), scholarship awards, etc.
• Proof of vaccination for COVID-19 with immunizations approved by the National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) or by the World Health Organization (WHO) or by the authorities of the country where the traveler has been immunized, whose last dose or single dose has occurred at least fourteen days before the date of boarding;
• Proof of health insurance with international coverage, including Brazil (copy of temporary card).
