IMPORTANT - Please read carefully the following information before applying for a visa
- Effective April 10th, 2024, nationals of Australia, Canada and the United States will need a visa to travel to Brazil on tourism or business.

Citizens of many countries must obtain a visa before entering Brazil. The Consulate General of Brazil in Houston, provides visa services to individuals residing within its jurisdiction (Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas).
An individual residing outside of this Consulate’s jurisdiction should apply for a visa at the Consulate whose jurisdiction covers his or her place of residence. Refer to our Jurisdiction page for information on other Brazilian Consulates in the United States and their areas of jurisdiction.
Whether or not you need a visa to travel to Brazil is determined by:
- The purpose of your trip to Brazil
- Your nationality
Until January 10th, 2024, citizens of the United States do not need a visa to travel to Brazil for tourism or certain business-related activities for trips under 90 days duration with a limit of 180 days per 12 months period.
