RESULTS OF SUBMISSION OF THE DOCUMENTS ON THE E-CONSULAR PLATFORM:

After submitting the required documents on the E-consular platform, the applicant will receive an email informing of the results. If approved, the applicant will be able to schedule an appointment to present the documents in person at the Consulate. If not approved, the applicant will receive an email informing of further procedures to continue with the visa application.

Who can apply

A Temporary Visa – Type V (VITEM V) may be granted to foreign individuals who intend to move to Brazil to either perform professional activities under an employment relationship with a Brazilian company or render service to a Brazilian company under a contract/agreement signed between a Brazilian and a foreign company.

VITEM V must be applied directly with the Ministry of Justice and Public Security in Brazil by the prospective Brazilian employer of the interested applicant. Information regarding the work permit application is available here. The VITEM V cannot be requested directly at a Brazilian Consulate.

The Consulate-General can only accept and process the visa application after receiving the work authorization approval from the Brazilian Ministry of Justice and Public Security.

How to apply

In order to request the issue of a VITEM V, the applicant must schedule an appointment at the Consulate-General through the E-CONSULAR system and present the required documents listed below.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Online Application Form Click here to open (read carefully before applying)	Complete the online Application Form. There is no printable version available for download. Provide all the required information – please note that some fields are mandatory. Click on the "Complete Application" button to generate the Visa Request Form Receipt (RER). Print and sign the RER; affix your photo on the indicated field. Upload the digital copies of all documents listed below on E-Consular platform. Applications without the uploaded documents will not be accepted. IMPORTANT: The Consulate does not print the Visa Request Form Receipt (RER). If the applicant does not bring the printed RER, it will not be possible to submit the application.
Photo 5x7 cm (*photo specifications*)	Recent photo taken no more than 6 months before the time of application The printed photo and the photo uploaded on the online application form must be the same
Valid Passport	Original passport signed by the applicant, with at least two contiguous blank pages left. Please note that pages reserved for amendments cannot be used for visa purposes. Your passport must be in good condition in order to be accepted as a valid document. It must not be torn, wet, damp, stained, cut, punctured, excessively dirty etc.
Original birth certificate + Apostille	The original birth certificate must display both parent's full names in English. If the birth certificate is written in Chinese, translation into English will be required. For Chinese applicants: the "registration card for residents" (居民戶口簿, 登記事項變更和更正記載, 常住人口登記卡) of the applicant and each of his/her parents may be presented as a substitute for the birth certificate. The document must be legalized with the Hague Apostille in order to be valid in Brazil.
Certificate of no-criminal record for applicant and family members 16 years of age or older.	The certificate must be issued by the Police Department of the applicant’s place of residence for the last 12 months. For the Hong Kong Police Department’s certificate, the Consulate-General must request the issue of said document on behalf of the applicant. In this case, please send us an e-mail with a copy of your valid passport and HKID. The original document must be presented at the Consulate-General. Printouts of computer-generated criminal records are not accepted.
Round trip-ticket	Copy of the round-trip-ticket or e-ticket bearing applicant’s name; or Signed letter from the airline or travel agent, on their letterhead, with the itinerary, the passengers' full names, flight number or cruise information, and dates of arrival and departure from Brazil.
Consular Fees	Payments must be made upon the presentation of the required documents PLEASE NOTE: the payment of the consular fee does not guarantee that the visa will be granted.

CONSULAR FEES:

PLEASE BE ADVISED: the payment of the consular fee does not guarantee that the visa will be granted. The consular fee is required as part of the application analyses process and will not be reimbursed in case the visa is not granted or denied due to lack of documentation by the applicant or any other relevant reason that may prevent the visa from being granted during the application analyses process.

The type of visa that applies to each case is determined by the Consular Authority, based on the information provided.

All documents should be written in English. Documents written in Chinese will not be accepted.
