Mr. Fernando Apparicio da Silva was born in the city of Rio de Janeiro in 1959.
In 1986, he graduated in Diplomacy at Instituto Rio Branco, the Brazilian academy responsible for forming Brazilian diplomats.
From 1987 to 1991, he worked at the United Nations Division. He worked at the Embassy of Brazil in Paris in 1991, where he remained until 1995. He was then posted to the Embassy of Brazil in Moscow.
Back in Brasilia in 1997, he worked as assistant to the Director of Department of International Organizations in the Ministry of International Relations.
From 2000 to 2003, he was posted at the Permanent Mission of Brazil in Geneva, where he was delegate to the United Nations Conference on Disarmament and worked with subjects regarding arms control and nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation, among others.
Back in Brazil, he was assigned at the office of deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2004 to 2009.
In 2017, he was promoted Ambassador, thus attaining the highest level in the Brazilian diplomatic service.
Mr. Fernando Apparicio da Silva was Ambassador in Guinea Bissau from 2014 to 2018 and Ambassador in Vietnam from 2019 to 2022.
