Power of Attorney
Powers of Attorney (PoA) are only issued to Brazilian citizens/companies and foreigners in possession of a valid Brazilian ID for Foreigners (CRNM).
The recipient(s) in Brazil must inform whether a public or private PoA is required as well as provide the applicable text.
The consulate will only certify the principal/grantor’s signature in private PoA whereas the full document will be issued for public PoA.
Note that a PoA issued by a South African Notary Public will need to be apostilled in order to take effect in Brazil.
