Honorary Consuls
HONORARY CONSULS
The role of the honorary consul is exercised by Brazilian or foreign citizens willing to act in favor of the interests of the Brazilian State and its nationals in a local region.
The honorary consul exercises their function as a volunteer and is not a career diplomat nor a paid employee of the Brazilian State.
Honorary consuls assist Brazilians within the limits of their jurisdictions by helping them to develop their activities and protect their rights. Moreover, they promote cultural, commercial, and scientific exchange between Brazil and the United States.
Honorary consuls are not authorized to issue passports, visas, or notarial deeds.
