Culture
The Cultural Department of the Consulate General of Brazil in Chicago is responsible for disseminating the Brazilian culture and promoting the Portuguese language.
Part of the mission of the Consulate is to encourage artistic manifestations that allow the Brazilian community abroad to remain close to its cultural roots and present to the local population the characteristic elements of the Brazilian identity.
Education
The Educational Department of the Consulate General of Brazil in Chicago is responsible for monitoring and advising Brazilian students, professors, and researchers based in the ten states of this Consulate jurisdiction. The department's goals are to facilitate partnerships between Brazilian and North American academic institutions and to consolidate the Portuguese Language Diffusion Program, which has projects to promote the Portuguese language as a foreign or heritage language in the Midwest states.
