- The diplomatic visa is granted to diplomats, government staff, or employees of International Organizations with diplomatic status on an official mission to Brazil, either permanent or temporary.
- The official visa is granted for those on an official mission to Brazil, either permanent or temporary, without diplomatic status.
- The request must be made by Diplomatic Note from the government or organization the applicant will represent.
- The visa will be issued for the mission's duration, as approved by the authorities in Brazil.
- For stays over 90 days, holders of this type of visa must register with the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs within 30 days of entry into the country and submit a copy of the visa application form provided by this Consulate.
- This visa cannot be issued on passports from Kosovo, Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, and Taiwan, as Brazil does not maintain diplomatic relations with these countries.
LENGTH OF STAY IN BRAZIL
Up to 2 years. On a reciprocity basis, this visa may be issued for a longer period if specified in the Diplomatic Note.

VISA FEES
Diplomatic and official visas are free of charge.
Once the documents are approved, the original documentation can be sent by mail. All applications must include a pre-paid return envelope exclusively from the USPS.
ATTENTION
DO NOT send your service request by mail without receiving the e-mail with the validation of your request first. Requests sent without Consulate's validation will be returned.
