VITEM XIII – International Agreement
ELIGIBILITY:
- The current international agreement is for MERCOSUL and associated countries.
- Citizens of Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay may apply for the VITEM XIII if intend to require temporary residency.
- This visa allows to live in Brazil for 2 years.
- Alternatively, instead of applying for the VITEM XIII, you may simply enter Brazil and apply for the temporary residence directly at the Federal Police Department in Brazil.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
1) PASSPORT: Signed, valid up to the end of your trip and with at least one visa blank page available (amendment pages are not accepted).
2) VISA APPLICATION FORM: One per applicant, completely filled out online and signed by the passport holder or his/her parents/guardians. You will need to print only the receipt page with the bar code.
3) PHOTO: One recent 2” x 2” passport-photo size, front view, white background.
4) BACKGROUND CHECK: FBI Clearance or Local Police Department Clearance issued within the last six months.
5) BIRTH CERTIFICATE: copy of your birth certificate.
NOTE: Once in Brazil, you must present at Federal Police the birth certificate authenticated by an Apostille. It should be also translated by a certified translator in Brazil (“tradutor juramentado”).
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS (if applicable):
1) FOREIGN RESIDENTS: Copy of the US Alien Resident Card and/or a Valid Visa.
2) MINORS:
- Visa Request Form Receipt – RER must be signed by both parents or legal guardians;
- Original or notarized copy or birth certificate;
- Copy of parents' passports; and
- Notarized authorization form signed by both parents / legal guardians. Click here to download the form.
