VISA REQUIREMENTS BY COUNTRY

A) VISA WAIVERS
As a rule, Brazil's visa policy is based upon reciprocity, except for the citizens of the following countries, whose nationals are exempted from visit visas without reciprocity:
- Australia
- Canada
- Japan
- United States of America
Brazil also has visa waiver agreements with certain countries. For the visa waivers listed below to be in effect, the foreign traveler must bear a passport issued by the country with which Brazil has a visa waiver agreement. In addition to that, the foreign passport must be valid for at least 6 months throughout the trip.
A.1) VIVIS (“Visit Visa”) EXEMPTION
Those traveling with passports issued by Indonesia, Kazakhstan and Singapore are exempt from getting a visa to travel as tourists for up to 30 days within a one year period.
Those traveling with passports issued by Venezuela are exempt from getting a visa to travel as tourists for up to 60 days within a one year period.
Those traveling with passports issued by one of following countries are exempt from getting a visa to travel as visitors for up to 90 days within a one year period:

A.2) OTHER VISA EXEMPTIONS:
Those traveling with valid passports from the following countries are also exempt from getting a VITEM I, VITEM IV, VITEM VI or VITEM VII for stays up to 90 days within a one year period:

B) DURATION OF THE VISA
Brazil has visa agreements with certain countries. For those eligible for long duration Visit Visa (VIVIS) (valid for more than 90 days), the validity of the visa will count from the date it was issued.
Not to be confused with the length of stay. For example, a person with a visa valid for 10 years may use the same visa for 10 years, but cannot stay in Brazil over 90 days each time.
