TEMPORARY VISA - VOLUNTEERING
The temporary visa for volunteering activities shall be applied for by those who intend to engage in volunteer work for an institution in Brazil for more than 90 days.
In addition to the General Requirements you must also present:
- FBI Background Check issued within the last 3 months (request may be submitted to an FBI-approved Channeler);
- original birth certificate;
- Proof of financial capability during stay in Brazil (i.e. certified copy of bank or credit card statement, copy of savings certificate, letter from the employer or institution that granted a scholarship, etc);
- Signed declaration from the sponsoring Brazilian company or institution containing specific information on the activity to be performed, location and duration of the engagement. The signature on the letter must be legalized by a notary public in Brazil;

affidavit from the Brazilian institution, legalized by a notary public in Brazil, with: resumé that demonstrates previous work experience or matching degree for the field in which you are requiring the visa;
- document certifying professional experience or qualifications compatible with the activities to be carried out;
- proof that the organization assumes all and any medical and hospital expenses notarized by a notary public from this jurisdiction (Georgia, Alabama, Mississipi, Tennessee and South Carolina);
- invitation to render service as a volunteer;
- evidence that the entity is in full operation;
- copy of the passport (all pages), these copies must be: notarized + certified by a county clerk + apostilled (click here for more information about apostille);
- declaration that the institution in Brazil assumes full responsibility for the maintenance of the applicant, and his/her return on expiration of length of stay or at any time following the termination of the mission and that the applicant will not be paid by any source in Brazil.

Copy of the following documents from the institution in Brazil, notarized in Brazil:
- bylaws of the institution (“estatuto social”);
- act in which the institution’s directors were nominated;
- Proof of inscription in the national or local “Conselho de Assistência Social”;
- Act of indication of the applicant to the intended position, with powers of representation, registered at the Brazilian proper governmental institution.
Additional documentation may be requested at the Consular Authority’s discretion.
