Travel authorization for a foreign minor
When entering or leaving Brazil with a minor (younger than 18 years of age) without the presence of both parents or both legal guardians you might be asked by the Brazilian Authorities to have a written travel authorization.
Hotels, hostels, resorts and other accommodations are also requesting written authorizations for lodging minors without the presence of one of the parents or legal guardians.
Parents can authorize each other or a third person to accompany a minor in Brazil by drafting a letter in English or Portuguese.

- Minor's document (birth certificate, ID card, other) showing the name of both parents (original and copy).
