FAMILY REUNION VISA - VITEM XI

a) General rules
Family Reunion Visa may be granted to the foreigner:
I - spouse or partner, without any discrimination, under the terms of the Brazilian legal ordinance;
II - child of a Brazilian national, or immigrant beneficiary of a residence permit;
III - stepchild of a Brazilian national, or an immigrant beneficiary of a residence permit, provided he is under eighteen years of age, or up to twenty-four years of age, if demonstrably a student, or of any age, if economical dependency is proven, in relation to the caller;
IV - who has a Brazilian child;
V - who has an immigrant child beneficiary of a residence permit;
VI - second degree ascendant of Brazilian national, or beneficiary immigrant residence permit;
VII - second degree descendant of Brazilian national, or immigrant beneficiary of residence permit;
VIII - brother of a Brazilian national, or immigrant beneficiary of a residence permit,
provided he is under eighteen years of age, or up to twenty-four years of age, if
demonstrably a student, or of any age, if dependency is proven
economical in relation to the caller; or
IX - who has a Brazilian under his guardianship, curatorship or guard.
b) Required documents
Documents required from the Brazilian citizen, or Brazilian permanent resident (dependant):
1 – Copy of the Brazilian ID or the Brazilian permanent resident card of the Brazilian citizen; when the original document is not shown, a copy of the original document must be legalized by a Public Notary in Brazil.
- If the dependant is Brazilian, the required document is the “Carteira de Identidade Civil” - RG or valid passport.
- If the dependant is a resident alien, the required document is the “Carteira do Registro Nacional de Estrangeiros” (RNE).
2 – Residence Declaration:
- Both the applicant and the spouse must sign the declaration, under penalty of perjury of law, stating that they are a couple in a factual and legitimate union, and that they already reside or are planning to reside in Brazil.
- Please note: the declaration must be signed in person at the Consulate General of Brazil in Amsterdam, before the consular agent. Alternatively, the signature may be certified by a notary public.

Documents required from the applicant:
3 – Passports presented must be original, valid for at least 6 (six) months prior to expiration date. The passport must have at least 2 (two) blank visa pages.
4 – One recent 3,5 cm x 4,5 cm (pasfoto) photograph, front view.
5 – Visa application form (click here to fill in the form). Please disregard the error message about the website’s security certificate. Click at “Continue to this website (not recommended)”.
Fill in the form.
. Click "SEND" to receive your processing number and receipt.
. Print the receipt.
. Attach your photograph
. Sign the receipt.
. Bring the duly completed and signed receipt, original documents and passport. The payment has to be done during the process at the Consulate by “PIN” (debit card).
6 - Certificate/declaration of marriage OR stable union/equivalent document:
- Marriage Registration issued by a Brazilian Consulate or by a public notary in Brazil.
- Stable Union Contract.
7 - Certificate of Good Behavior (VOG), in the international model, issued by the Ministry of Justice certifying absence of criminal record – only valid within 90 days after issuance.
- VOG - Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag: In order to issue the VOG, the Dutch authorities request a declaration provided by this Consulate. To request the declaration, send a photo of your passport to: visa.amsterdam@itamaraty.gov.br
- Outside the Netherlands: Certificates of good behaviour will only be accepted after they have been legalized by (1) the Brazilian Consulate in the country they have been issued or (2) bearing an “apostille” stamp according to The Hague Convention.
8 - Birth Certificate, in the international model, legalized or apostilled if from outside the Netherlands.
The Consulate might ask for further documents and explanations beyond the ones indicated on the website which are mandatory for visa concession.
CONSULAR FEES
All fees are payable by debit card (PIN). Credit cards and “cheques” are not accepted.
