Online Appointment Scheduling
The appointment has to be made EXCLUSIVELY on the website, and is free of charge (link is below in this page).
- Scheduling of appointments are MANDATORY for ALL services;
- The Consulate General will not process applications that lack the required documentation, or whose forms have not been entirely or correctly filled;
- Applicants should be at the Consulate General before the scheduled appointment (preferably 15 minutes in advance). Delays will not be tolerated. In such cases, the applicant will have to schedule a new appointment.
In view of the nature and duration of the various consular services, the applicant will follow the appointment rules listed below.
- Notary Acts: for each Notary Act requested, the applicant needs to schedule an appointment. In case of more than one legalization, the applicant will need to schedule two or more appointments;
- Passports: for each appointment, only ONE passport request can be issued. For more than one passport, an equal number of appointments needs be scheduled;
- Nationality and Visas: for each appointment, only ONE passport (or up to TWO visas) can be requested. If the limits are exceeded, the applicant will need to make the necessary appointments.

E-CONSULAR
General information
a. The e-consular is the new system for requesting services from the Consulate-General.
b. Before starting your online request, check our website for the complete documentation required for each service.
c. The system does not immediately provide the dates available for scheduling. To schedule, it is necessary to send through the system all the documents required for each service (upload the images). After the evaluation and validation of the documentation by the Consulate you can book your appointment.
d. On the moment of your appointment, it is mandatory to present the original of all documents sent through the system.
e. Applications for passports and visas services that are not made through the e-consular system will not be received.
Step by step
1. Log in
Enter the e-consular system (ec-amsterda.itamaraty.gov.br) and register with your e-mail.
Access can be done by computer, tablet or cell phone.
2. Check your e-mail inbox
A message will be sent to your e-mail providing a code that must be entered in the system.
It will only be possible to enter the system using the code sent by the e-consular.
You must then create a password and provide your contact details.
3. Choose a service
After providing your personal data, you will be directed to the main page, where you can select the desired service.
4. Fill in the fields
Read the instructions carefully and fill in all fields with the requested information.
Upload images of the required documentation in each field of the electronic form.
5. Finish the form
After filling in all the information, check the complete data and send it for validation.
6. Wait for the Consulate's answer
The Consulate staff will send an email confirming that you can book your appointment or requesting additional information within 7 working days.
7. Correction of the application
If you have received a message requesting the correction of the documentation sent, make the changes/additions and resend the form for validation.
8. Validation and scheduling
If your documentation is complete, the Consulate will send you an email with a link to access the service schedule.
Access the link and schedule the appointment on the desired date.
