Republic of Tajikistan
Brazil and Tajikistan established diplomatic relations by signing a protocol in Moscow, on March 29,1996. The Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan, is in charge of Brazil`s relations with the Republic of Tajikistan.
Bilateral cooperation has potential in the areas of agriculture (advanced farming techniques); alternative sources of energy (in particular ethanol), and construction of hydroelectric power plants.
Bilateral trade totaled $8 million in 2018. Brazilian exports consist largely of meat and poultry offals, while the main imported good from Tajikistan is antimony, used in metal alloys and semiconductors.
