Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
Relations between Brazil and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines are marked by constant dialogue and close coordination in technical cooperation and humanitarian assistance. Among the initiatives that have contributed to this rapprochement effort is the First Brazil-Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Summit, during which agreements in cultural and educational cooperation, and a memorandum of understanding on agricultural technical cooperation (all of them in effect) were signed.
In 2014, the governments of Brazil and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines signed a Reciprocal Understanding by Exchange of Notes on a visa waiver for nationals of both countries.
The technical cooperation agreement signed in 2010 was replaced by a new instrument signed in 2017, which is currently being discussed at the National Congress.
This set of agreements is expected to help the two countries to deepen mutual understanding and streamline contacts between their peoples and bilateral relations.
In 2019, bilateral trade totaled $2 million, a decrease of 11 per cent compared to the previous year. Brazilian exports to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines amounted to $1.97 million while imports from that country accounted for $0.3 million. Trade balance is favorable to Brazil with a surplus of $1.94 million.
