Republic of the Congo
Diplomatic relations between Brazil and the Republic of the Congo were established in 1980. In 1982, Congolese President Denis Sassou N'Guesso visited Brazil. Two years later the I Meeting of the Brazil-Congo Joint Commission took place.
Bilateral relations gained fresh momentum in the 2000s.
In July 2005 there was another visit of President Sassou N'Guesso to Brazil. In October 2007, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva visited the Republic of the Congo, in the first visit of a Brazilian Head of State to the country. That same year, the Embassy of Brazil in Brazzaville was created and the 2nd bilateral Joint Commisson Meeting was held. In 2008 the congolese embassy was opened in Brasília and in 2009 the 3rd session of the Joint Commission was held. In 2003, President N’Guesso traveled to Brazil to participate in the Amazon Summit, in Belém.
Brazil and the Republic of the Congo have a Framework Agreement onTechnical Cooperation, in force since 1986. Today, Congo-Brazzaville is among the 40 developing countries covered by a triangular technical cooperation project between Brazil, the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) and Japan, aimed at training agencies and focal points dedicated to international cooperation.

2018 – Meeting of the Congolese Minister of Sports and Physical Education Hugues Ngouelondele with his Brazilian counterpart on technical cooperation, in Brasília.
2013 – President Dilma Rousseff and President of the Congo, Denis Sassou N'Guesso, meet in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), on the the sidelines of the African Union's Golden Jubilee celebration (May)
2012 – The Congolese President visits Brazil, on the occasion of Rio+20, and meets with President Dilma Rousseff
2010 – The Minister of Sustainable Development, Forest Economy and the Environment of the Congo, Henry Djombo, visits Brazil. The Minister of Agriculture and Livestock of the Congo, Rigobert Maboundou, participates in the Brazil-Africa Dialogue on Food Security, Fight against Hunger and Rural Development
2009 – Third Meeting of the Joint Brazil-Congo Commission, in Brazzaville
2008 – The Congolese Ministers of Planning and Organization of the Territory, Pierre Moussa, and Agriculture and Livestock, Rigobert Maboundou, visit Brazil. Opening of the Congo-Brazzaville Embassy in Brasília
2007 – Visit of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to Congo, the first by a Brazilian Head of State to the country.Opening of the Brazilian Embassy in Brazzaville, officially established in the second half of 2008. Second Meeting of the Joint Brazil-Congo Commission, in Brazzaville
