Republic of Mauritius
Diplomatic relations between Brazil and the Republic of Mauritius were established in 1974. The Embassy of Brazil in Pretoria (South Africa) is concurrently responsible for representing Brazil before the government of Mauritius, and the Embassy of Mauritius in Washington represents its country before the Brazilian government.
Main topics of the bilateral dialogue between Brazil and the Republic of Mauritius include technical cooperation in the sugar sector and bilateral exchange in ethanol production.
Mauritius is an observer member of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) since July 2006, and has supported Brazilian candidacies to multilateral organizations
Bilateral trade flow amounted to $47,1 million in 2022. Of this total, $46,6 million corresponded to Brazilian exports, composed largely of sugars and molasses, footwear and other products of the processing industry .
