Commonwealth of Dominica
Brazil and Dominica established diplomatic relations in 1986. Following the 1st Brazil – CARICOM Summit, in 2010, bilateral relations were boosted, with emphasis on political dialogue and technical cooperation. In 2014, an important Basic Technical Cooperation Agreement was signed between Brazil and the Commonwealth of Dominica.
Within the scope of the Strengthening the Management of Water Resources in Caribbean Countries Initiative, training courses in water and soil conservation and water resources governance and management were offered to Caribbean technicians. One of these courses was held in Dominican territory.
In 2017, the hurricane season affected the island of Dominica severely. In this context, the Brazilian government allocated $200,000 in resources from the Brazil-FAO project (Social and environmental Disaster Risk Management for Food and Nutritional Security in Latin America and the Caribbean) to help rebuild the Caribbean country.
In 2018, bilateral trade totaled $4.02 million. Brazilian exports to the Commonwealth of Dominica amounted to $3.98 million and imports totaled $0.04 million. Brazil has a favorable trade balance with Dominica, with a surplus of $3.94 million.

2015 – The non-resident ambassador of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Jennifer Aird, visits Brazil
2010 – The Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica takes part in the 1st Brazil – CARICOM Summit in Brasília
2009 – Opening of the Brazilian embassy in Roseau. Before that, Brazilian interests in the country were represented by the Brazilian embassy in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago
2008 – The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Commonwealth of Dominica takes part in the 1st Summit of Latin America and the Caribbean (CALC), in Costa do Sauipe
