Visit of the U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan to Brazil
The U.S. National Security Advisor (NSC), Jake Sullivan, will make a working visit to Brazil on August 5 joined by a high-level delegation.
As the principal advisor to the U.S. President on national security and foreign policy matters, Jake Sullivan is responsible for coordinating international initiatives among various U.S. government agencies.
The NSC is a collective decision-making body, chaired by the head of the Executive branch. Its members are the secretaries of State, of the Treasury, and of Defense, among other senior authorities of the U.S. government.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Carlos Alberto Franco França will receive Jake Sullivan at the Itamaraty Palace. The visit represents the strengthened partnership between the two largest economies and democracies of the American continent.
In addition to a diversified and broad bilateral agenda, the governments of Brazil and of the U.S. have shared interests in the promotion of a prosperous, safe and democratic hemisphere.
The National Security Advisor will also meet with the Minister of Defense, General Walter Braga Netto, with the Head of Brazil's Institutional Security Office, General Augusto Heleno, and with the Special Secretary for Strategic Affairs of the Presidency of the Republic, Admiral Flávio Rocha.
