Visit of the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA)

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mauro Vieira, received today the visit of the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Pierre Krähenbühl.

This is the first official visit of the Commissioner to the country after taking office in March 2014 and the first as the leader of the Agency since the admission of Brazil as a member of the UNRWA Advisory Commission, also last year.

Brazil, which has systematically and consistently contributed to the international efforts to support Palestine refugees, is the first Latin America and BRICS country to be represented on the Advisory Commission.
