The Secretary of State of the United States of America, Hillary Clinton, will visit Brazil on April 16 and 17.
On April 16, she will be hosted by the Minister of External Relations, Antonio de Aguiar Patriota, in the context of the Third Meeting of the U.S.-Brazil Global Partnership Dialogue (GPD). Established in 2010, the GDP meets annually to provide political steer to bilateral cooperation in areas such as education, science and technology, social inclusion and human rights.
They will also address global affairs, such as the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20), international peace and security and the reform of multilateral institutions.
The United States is Brazil’s second main trade partner. In 2011, trade flow between the two countries reached US$ 60 billion, an increase by 37% in relation to 2007. Brazil is the sixth largest source of visitors to the United States. The United States is the second largest source of visitors to Brazil.
