Visit to Brazil by the President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez
The President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, will make an official visit to Brazil on the 6th and 7th of March.
In Brasília, President Sánchez will hold a working meeting with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. During the meeting, the two leaders will review the state of bilateral relations and exchange views on relevant regional and global issues, such as the crisis in the Middle East, in particular the serious humanitarian situation in Gaza and the prospects for advancing a two-state solution; the conflict in Ukraine; the Mercosur-European Union agreement negotiations; and the reform of global governance institutions.
Brazil and Spain share fundamental values, including the defense of democracy, the promotion of racial equality and social inclusion policies, and the commitment to sustainable development.
Spanish investment in Brazil is significant: according to the ultimate controller criteria, Spain has consolidated its position as the second largest investor in Brazil, with a presence in the energy, banking, telecommunications, and insurance sectors, among others. Total investment stock is estimated at $59 billion, with an annual flow of nearly $3.3 billion in the past years.
