The Minister of External Relations, Antonio de Aguiar Patriota, will host the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship of Costa Rica, Enrique Castillo, in Brasilia on August 20, 2013.
The Foreign Ministers will examine the main issues on the bilateral, regional and international agenda. Brazil and Costa Rica work together in cooperation projects in the areas of agriculture, health, postal services, biofuels and water resources. In 2010, Costa Rica officially adopted the Japanese-Brazilian digital TV standard.
In 2012, bilateral trade grew by 26.6% over the previous year. Brazil is Costa Rica's fifth largest supplier of foreign goods. Costa Rica is the second largest economy in Central America, and its GDP grew by 5% in 2012.
