The Brazilian government condemns the intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) launch on October 31 and the short-range ballistic missile launches on November 5 by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
These actions violate United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions, which demand that the DPRK cease all activities related to its ballistic missile program.
Brazil recalls that only political and diplomatic engagement will allow the achievement of a stable, peaceful and nuclear-weapon-free Korean peninsula.
Brazil also urges the actors involved to refrain from any action that could escalate tensions in the region and to resume dialogue towards the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula.
